Accessibility

We want every client to be able to use this site, and we would rather hear about a problem than have someone quietly give up on it.

Our commitment

LA Realty & Property Consulting is working to make this website usable by everyone, including people who browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard alone, enlarge text, or rely on high-contrast display settings.

Conformance target

We are working toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA, which includes everything in WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We describe this as a target we are working toward, not as an achieved state.

What we do not claim

We think it is more useful to be plain about this than to imply more than is true.

  • We do not claim to be “ADA compliant” or “WCAG certified”. No such certification exists for websites.
  • We do not claim the site is free of accessibility defects.
  • We have not yet had an independent audit or formal screen reader testing by a third party. When that happens, this page will say so and give the date.

What has been done

As of July 2026 the site has been reviewed page by page at the code level. The work below has been completed and verified in the source; it has not yet been verified with assistive technology by an independent tester.

  • Every form field has a programmatically associated label, and fields carry the correct autocomplete purpose so browsers and assistive tools can fill them.
  • Every text and interface color pair was measured against the WCAG contrast formula and adjusted where it fell short, rather than judged by eye.
  • A visible keyboard focus indicator appears on every interactive element, in a color measured to stand out against whatever sits behind it.
  • Each page has a single main landmark and a working skip link, so screen reader users can bypass the repeated header.
  • Headings follow the real structure of each page, so a screen reader user can jump between sections.
  • Images carry meaningful alternative text; decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology instead of being announced as noise.
  • Interactive elements use native HTML buttons and links wherever possible, so they behave correctly without custom scripting.
  • The site honors the operating system's reduced-motion preference.
  • Form errors appear in a summary at the top of the form, which receives focus, lists every problem, and links to each field. Nothing you have typed is lost.
  • A shared accessibility stylesheet and script are loaded by every page, so pages added in future inherit these behaviours rather than needing to be fixed one at a time.
  • Nothing on the site depends on JavaScript to be readable or usable.
  • A re-runnable audit script is kept with the site's source and is run after every change.
  • Page layouts reflow to a single column without horizontal scrolling at narrow widths and at high zoom.

Known limitations

We would rather name these than leave you to discover them.

  • MLS listing search. The property search and featured listings tools on this site are supplied by MLS Property Information Network (MLS PIN) and displayed within our pages. We do not control that software's accessibility. If any part of it is difficult to use, call 617-329-1392 or email luca@larpc.com and we will run the search with you and send results in whatever format works best.
  • Areas map. The map on the Areas Served page is an illustration. Every community it marks is also written out as a text list directly beneath it, which is the version screen readers and keyboard users receive.
  • Independent assistive-technology testing. The work above is code-level remediation. An independent review with real screen reader software has not yet been completed, and no code review can substitute for it.

A note on accessibility overlay widgets

This site deliberately does not use a third-party accessibility overlay or "accessibility mode" button. Those products are widely reported by screen reader users and disability advocates as ineffective, and installing one is not a substitute for fixing the underlying code. We have chosen to do the underlying work instead.

If something on this site does not work for you, or you need information from it in another format, please get in touch. Tell us what page you were on and what happened, and we will respond and work with you directly in the meantime. We aim to reply within two business days.

Contacting us is an invitation, not a requirement. Nothing on this page limits your rights or asks you to come to us before raising a concern elsewhere.

How this is kept current

A static audit script is run against the site's source after every change, and the accessibility layer is shared across all pages so new pages inherit it. Automated checking catches roughly a third of accessibility problems, so a clean run is a starting point, not a conclusion.
